New Release: environment

Influences… Koyaziu & Yunclas, Xixón Ciudad Sonora, Jon Hopkins, Samuel Kerridge, The Field, Field Recording and Soundscapes, OPN, shxcxchcxsh, noise, small clubs full of smoke, PD, barricades, Container, dystopian, Stockhausen, Black Paintings, cyberpunk, masks, sweat ooze…

environment it’s an album close to noise and techno, the darkest and most industrial approach to electro here so far.

It combines forceful kicks and acid sequences with ethereal soundscapes, always starting from environmental sounds, sound landscapes … The rest is noise …

It is also the result of the techniques and methods developed with Pedro Lebrato: the project “Xixón, Ciudad Sonora”. An attempt to build rhythms and melodies from the sound that surrounds us.

Either through the sound landscapes themselves, their decomposition into loops or the creation of new sounds from these field recordings through synthesis, sequencing and effects.

“There is no much thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In Fact, try as many to make a silence, we cannot. John Cage

Atmospheres and sequences are modulated in real time by ambient sound “at this moment”, through the transformation into midi data of the information collected by several microphones.

In short, it’s also an experimental recording in terms of its creation and production process.

The opportunity of add new music to this library in a “different” way.

That’s all.

New Release: Message

With more delay than expected, I’m sharing “Message”. Being working on other projects (of which I hope to give news soon) made that this album, with not complicated production, that expects to be fresh and casual, has taken longer to see the light.

This has also influenced the shape and spirit: in the beginning it was going to have more songs, with more punk-rock tension. “Rude” was the word. But, as has already happened several times in this library, the path between the initial idea and the final result is too long…

Summarizing..

12 songs, 27 minutes. Rock, garage, punk (for reference). 12 fresh and direct songs, without additives. With prominence of dirty guitar riffs and frenetic rhythms. Casual sounds and imperfect tricks. As if it was a first concert in a small club. Or we listened to a rookie rock group in one of his first reunions in a garage. When, musically, the intensity is above everything else.

Influences… Black Lips, The Clash, beer & public gardens, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, longboards, Eddy Current, Harmony Korine & Larry Clark, Black Falg, 4-string guitars and 2-string basses, The Cramps, Titus Andronicus, BMX, Ex Hex, Broncho, bad kids, caps and backpacks, Parquet Courts, hangovers, Gonzo, OFF…

New Release: Onus

Onus_neweb

Onus is a bad day. A slump.

Surely the most gray and sad work that I ever made for this library. A step beyond melancholy, Onus tries to collect most of feelings and motivations that we can live in those times in which one is not quite right: from gloom to hope, anger, moments of simple contemplation.

When one collapses and at the same time want to get up and initiate change. When the head is going a mile a minute and yet one does not think of anything. This moments when you are blank and get great lucidity both.

Onus is melodic lines of strings and winds supported in electronic beds. With synths in the background and saturated drum machines. Guitars that appear suddenly, distant. There are broken rhythms and kicks that hit you. The result of mixing dark electronica with dramatic orchestral arrangements.
Influences… Actress, snowy beaches, silence, Arca, Haxam Cloak, Andy Stott, Ben Frost, Björk, Clark, wrong expectations, homesickness, cold snap, Theo Parrish, Herbert, violins and cellos, broken instruments, Hans Zimmer, Debussy, Britten, Shostakovich, Brian Eno, Johann Johannsson, Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, hugs…
