Meet Point: Cameo

mzl.hzyxubxxCameo is a new free social video app that allows you to take as many videos as you want, and to share these in real time. You can shoot six-second 720p video clips and do basic clip trimming, editing your longer short films simply by dragging and dropping your clips.

Cameo offers its own filters, “Themes”. And you can also add a soundtrack to your short films, either through music in your iTunes library, or songs selected by the Cameo team. And that’s the point where I come into play.

Maybe you want to use some tunes from betterwithmusic’s library …

… or some new and exclusive stuff …

“There are a lot of iPhone owners who never touch the video feature they have, but Cameo could give them a good reason to explore video as a creative and social outlet that isn’t complicated to use.” TUAW

“The goal? To let you share stories, not just repeating clips of your cat struggling to stay awake. It may also inspire a new generation of filmmakers.” Venture Beat

“The iPhone’s camera is plenty good for amateur movie-making of all shapes and sizes, but you don’t see the average person doing much with all the videos in their camera roll. Cameo, a new filmmaking app for iPhone, hopes to change that.” The Verge
